Terms of Service
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
Welcome to PetLife ("PetLife," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PetLife website at petlife.live, the PetLife mobile application, and all related services, including digital pet passports, health records, the microchip registry, and PetLife Plus subscriptions (collectively, the "Service").
The Service is operated by Sheung Ventures Inc., Dallas, Texas, USA. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance & Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a subscription or paid service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that any registration information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.
If you use the Service on behalf of another person (for example, managing a passport for a family member's pet), you represent that you have their permission to do so.
2. Your Account
You need an account to create passports and use most features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@petlife.live if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Subscriptions, Billing & Plus Preview
3.1 Plans & Pricing
Creating a basic digital pet passport is free. Optional auto-renewing subscriptions unlock premium features:
- PetLife Plus — $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year. Includes up to 5 passports plus cross-signal analysis, recurring assisted capture, complete medical organization, and expanded journal, contact-card, and companion-world tools shown at purchase.
- PetLife Plus 15 Pets — $16.99 per month or $119.99 per year. Includes up to 15 passports plus the same premium feature set.
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars and may vary by region and currency. The price displayed at the point of purchase in the App Store or Google Play is the price you will be charged. Existing legacy web subscriptions continue under the price shown at their original checkout unless changed with notice.
3.2 Auto-Renewal & Cancellation (App Store purchases)
Subscriptions purchased in the PetLife iOS app are billed through your Apple App Store account, and the App Store's own terms govern that transaction. They renew automatically (monthly or yearly, per your plan) unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Canceling stops future renewals — you keep access to premium features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
3.3 Auto-Renewal & Cancellation (Google Play purchases)
Subscriptions purchased in the PetLife Android app are billed through your Google Play account, and Google Play's own terms govern that transaction. They renew automatically (monthly or yearly, per your plan) unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Canceling stops future renewals — you keep access to premium features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
3.4 Legacy Web Subscriptions
New PetLife Plus purchases are not available on the website during this launch phase. A subscription previously purchased on petlife.live is a legacy web subscription billed through Stripe. Unless canceled, it continues to renew under the terms shown at its original checkout. Contact support@petlife.live to manage a legacy web subscription.
3.5 Refunds
Payments are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law or is granted under the store's own refund policies. For purchases made through the App Store, refund requests are handled by Apple, not PetLife — you can request one at Apple's report-a-problem page or through your App Store account. For purchases made through Google Play, refund requests are handled by Google, not PetLife, under Google Play's refund policies — you can request one through your Google Play account. For legacy web purchases, refunds are provided only where required by applicable law. Contact support@petlife.live with any billing questions.
3.6 PetLife Plus Preview and Store Offers
An eligible user may explicitly start one PetLife-granted 7-day Plus preview from a premium-feature prompt in the app. The preview does not begin automatically when an account or passport is created. It is limited to one per account, unlocks preview feature tools for one pet, requires no payment method, and does not auto-renew or convert into a paid subscription. When it ends, those preview features lock unless you choose to subscribe.
Apple may separately make a free trial, introductory price, promotional offer, or offer code available with an auto-renewing App Store subscription, and Google Play may do the same with an auto-renewing Google Play subscription. Those are store subscription offers, not the PetLife-granted no-card preview. The duration, price, eligibility, billing, renewal, and cancellation terms shown by the store at purchase apply, including conversion to the displayed paid subscription unless canceled under that store's stated terms.
3.7 Changes to Plans & Pricing
We may change subscription prices or features prospectively. For App Store and Google Play subscriptions, the store will notify you of price changes and, where required, ask for your consent before a new price takes effect. For a legacy web subscription, we will notify you of a price change before it applies to your next renewal.
4. Digital Pet Passports — Not Official Identification
The PetLife Passport is a community-recognized digital record of your pet's identity and care. It is not official identification. It is not a government-issued document, is not a legal travel document, and does not replace official pet passports, licenses, registrations, import/export certificates, or vaccination records required by any government, airline, or regulatory authority. The passport itself carries the same disclaimer: "Community-recognized. Not official identification." Always verify official requirements with the relevant authorities before traveling or relying on documentation for legal purposes.
5. Microchip Registry
The PetLife Registry allows users to associate a microchip number with a passport and allows anyone to look up a microchip number to help reunite lost pets with their owners. The registry is built from user-submitted data. We do not verify microchip numbers against manufacturer or government databases, and we make no guarantee that the registry is complete, accurate, or current, or that a lookup will locate a pet or its owner. The registry supplements — it does not replace — official and manufacturer-operated microchip registries. Do not submit microchip numbers for pets you do not own or manage.
6. Vet Verification
Vet verification is not currently offered. If PetLife makes this optional service available in the future, a participating veterinary clinic may review a submitted health record and mark it as verified. Any such verification would reflect only the clinic's review of that record; it would not be a medical opinion, certification of health, or government attestation. Availability, price, and refund terms would be disclosed before a request or payment is accepted.
7. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service — photos, videos, journal entries, notes, health records, and other materials ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant PetLife a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate the Service — for example, storing your photos, rendering your pet's passport, and showing content to people you share it with. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that persist temporarily in backups.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you submit;
- Your User Content does not infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright and privacy rights;
- Your User Content is not unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or harmful.
We may remove User Content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
8. Family Member Information
The Service lets you add family members and emergency contacts to a passport, including their names, phone numbers, email addresses, and photos. When you add information about another person, you represent that you have that person's consent to include their information in PetLife. Ordinary public-passport pages and expiring share links or QR codes exclude family-member and emergency-contact information. If you explicitly designate an emergency contact and mark your pet as missing, the public passport and registry lookup may show only that contact's name and phone number so a finder can reach them. You represent that you have consent for that limited missing-pet disclosure, and you are responsible for accuracy and for removing the information if consent is withdrawn.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Create passports or registry entries for pets you do not own or manage, or submit false or misleading information;
- Misrepresent a PetLife Passport as official or government-issued identification;
- Access or attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization;
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download registry data or other users' information;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, circumvent rate limits or security measures, or probe for vulnerabilities;
- Use the registry's found-pet reporting to harass, deceive, or spam pet owners;
- Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
10. Not Veterinary Advice
PetLife is a record-keeping and organizational tool. Nothing in the Service — including health record features, reminders, insights, or any content we provide — is veterinary or medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for questions about your pet's health, and seek immediate veterinary care in an emergency. Never delay or disregard professional veterinary advice because of something you saw in the Service.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST, OR THAT REGISTRY LOOKUPS, VERIFICATIONS, OR NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR TIMELY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PETLIFE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — INCLUDING RELIANCE ON REGISTRY DATA, PASSPORT INFORMATION, OR VERIFICATION RESULTS. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) US$100. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time using the in-app account deletion flow or by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid, except as required by law or by App Store or Google Play policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 11, 12, and 15) survive.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you through the Service or by email before it takes effect. The "Last Updated" date above indicates the current version. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in this section deprives you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
16. Contact

17. Additional Terms for Apple App Store Users
This Section 17 applies when you use the PetLife app obtained from the Apple App Store (the "iOS app"). Apple requires the following terms for an app that is distributed under the developer's own terms of service instead of Apple's standard end-user license agreement. They apply in addition to the rest of these Terms; the disclaimers in Section 11, the limitation of liability in Section 12, and the governing law in Section 15 continue to apply to the iOS app.
Acknowledgement
These Terms are concluded between you and PetLife only, and not with Apple. PetLife, not Apple, is solely responsible for the iOS app and its content. These Terms do not impose usage rules for the iOS app that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; if any such conflict arises, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions control for your use of the iOS app.
Scope of License
PetLife grants you a limited, non-transferable license to use the iOS app on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the iOS app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with the purchaser via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
Maintenance and Support
PetLife is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the iOS app, as described in these Terms or as required under applicable law. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the iOS app. Support is available at support@petlife.live.
Warranty
PetLife is solely responsible for any product warranties for the iOS app, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed under Section 11. If the iOS app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the iOS app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the iOS app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are PetLife's sole responsibility. This warranty refund concerns the iOS app itself; refund requests for subscriptions purchased through the App Store are handled as described in Section 3.5.
Product Claims
You acknowledge that PetLife, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the iOS app or your possession and/or use of the iOS app, including, but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the iOS app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation. Nothing in these Terms limits PetLife's liability to you beyond what applicable law permits.
Intellectual Property Rights
You acknowledge that, in the event of any third-party claim that the iOS app or your possession and use of the iOS app infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, PetLife, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that intellectual property infringement claim.
Legal Compliance
You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Developer Contact
The iOS app is developed and operated by Sheung Ventures Inc., Dallas, Texas, USA. Direct any questions, complaints, or claims with respect to the iOS app to PetLife using the contact details in Section 16, including by email at support@petlife.live.
Third-Party Terms of Agreement
You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the iOS app. For example, you must not be in violation of your wireless data service agreement when using the iOS app, and you must comply with the terms of any third-party sign-in or connected service you use with the Service.
Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge and agree that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary of them.
