PetLife Affiliate Program

Current program status: New affiliate applications and commission campaigns are paused while PetLife completes in-app attribution. Existing partners retain portal access, historical records, and eligible balances. Current App Store installs are measured only in aggregate and do not automatically create affiliate attribution or commission.

These Affiliate Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern participation in the PetLife Affiliate Program (“Program”). By applying to or participating in the Program, you (“Affiliate,” "Ambassador," “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Program Overview

PetLife (“PetLife,” “we,” “us”) offers an affiliate program that allows approved affiliates to earn commissions by referring users to PetLife products, including the PetLife Passport™.

Participation in the Program is optional and subject to approval, suspension, or termination at PetLife’s discretion.

2. Eligibility

To be eligible for cash commissions:

• You must apply for and be approved as a PetLife Affiliate
• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must provide accurate information during onboarding
• You must complete Stripe Express payout onboarding before receiving payouts

PetLife reserves the right to approve or reject any affiliate application for any reason.

3. Referral Links & Attribution

3.1 Canonical Referral Links: Affiliates receive a unique referral link (“Referral Link”) used to track referrals. PetLife uses first-touch attribution, meaning the first affiliate to refer a user will be credited for eligible actions taken by that user.

3.2 Attribution Rules: Once a user is attributed to an affiliate, attribution is locked and cannot be reassigned or overwritten. Self-referrals are prohibited. Self-referred subscription payments are automatically rejected by our systems, and any other self-referred commission will be reversed under Section 6.5. PetLife’s tracking systems are authoritative and final.

4. Commissions

4.1 Direct Commissions: Approved affiliates earn a 20% cash commission on eligible purchases made through their Referral Link, including one-time purchases and subscription payments as described below.

4.2 Recurring Subscription Commissions: For subscriptions that PetLife can validly attribute to an affiliate, the 20% commission applies to every eligible subscription payment (the initial payment and each renewal) that occurs within 12 months (365 days) of the referred user’s subscription start. Payments made after that window and zero-dollar invoices do not earn commission. Current App Store installs do not carry per-user affiliate attribution and therefore do not qualify unless PetLife later records and confirms an eligible attribution through a supported in-app program.

4.3 Override Commissions: Affiliates who recruit other affiliates may earn a 5% override commission on eligible purchases and subscription payments made by customers of affiliates they directly referred, subject to the same 12-month window for subscription payments. Override eligibility is determined by PetLife and may be modified or revoked.

4.4 Calculation: Commissions are calculated in whole cents on the amount actually paid for an eligible, attributed purchase, rounded down to the nearest cent.

5. Site Credit vs Cash Payouts

5.1 Normal Users: Users who share referral links without affiliate approval may earn site credit only (currently 20% of eligible purchases, credited as non-withdrawable site credit). Site credit is non-withdrawable, has no cash value, may be used only for PetLife products or features, and may expire or be capped at PetLife’s discretion.

5.2 Affiliate Upgrade: Only approved affiliates are eligible for cash payouts.

6. Payouts & Taxes

6.1 Payout Provider: PetLife uses Stripe Express to process affiliate payouts. Before receiving any payout, affiliates must complete Stripe Express onboarding and provide required tax and identity information directly to Stripe. PetLife does not collect or store sensitive financial or tax data.

6.2 Requesting Payouts: Payouts are requested on demand from your affiliate dashboard and are sent to your connected Stripe account. The minimum payout amount is $25.00 USD.

6.3 Holding Period: Commissions become available for payout 7 days after they are earned (a “Net-7” schedule). Commissions earned within the last 7 days are shown in your balance but cannot yet be withdrawn.

6.4 Tax Forms: Any payout request that would bring your cumulative payouts to $600 USD or more is locked until you submit a completed tax form (Form W-9 for U.S. persons) and it is verified. Affiliates are solely responsible for reporting income, paying applicable taxes, and complying with local tax laws. PetLife may issue tax forms where legally required.

6.5 Review & Adjustments: All payouts are subject to review. PetLife may withhold, adjust, or reverse commissions attributable to self-referrals, fraud, abuse, or tracking errors. Commissions on refunded or charged-back purchases are reversed: if the commission has not yet been paid out it is deducted from your pending balance, and if it has already been paid out the amount is offset against your future earnings.

7. Promotion Guidelines

Affiliates must promote PetLife honestly and ethically.

7.1 Prohibited Claims: Affiliates may not claim or imply that PetLife replaces veterinarians, medical advice, or official records; that PetLife Passport™ is a government-issued or legally recognized document; that future features are currently available; that earnings are guaranteed or passive; or that affiliates are employees, agents, or representatives of PetLife.

7.2 Prohibited Conduct: Affiliates may not spam messages, comments, or DMs; misrepresent PetLife or the Program; use deceptive, misleading, or false advertising; impersonate PetLife staff or official accounts; or engage in self-referrals or referral fraud. Violation may result in termination and forfeiture of commissions.

8. Termination

PetLife may suspend or terminate affiliate participation at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, or harm to the PetLife brand. Upon termination, unpaid commissions may be withheld, referral links may be disabled, and attribution may be revoked.

9. Modifications

PetLife reserves the right to modify commission rates, program structure, attribution rules, and these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the affiliate dashboard or email. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

10. Independent Contractor Relationship

Affiliates are independent contractors, not employees, partners, or agents of PetLife. Nothing in this Program creates employment, partnership, joint venture, or franchise relationship.

11. Limitation of Liability

PetLife shall not be liable for tracking errors, lost commissions due to technical issues, or indirect or consequential damages. Affiliate participation is at your own risk.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
